Functional Classification System Maps, 1950-2014 Series 2655
The series consists of maps that show the different classes of highways and major roads and the Federal Aid number for each, divided into rural (county maps) and urban (city and county maps) classifications. A 1970-1990 National Highway Functional Classification and Needs Study features county maps and a report on Mississippi's results. A 1991 atlas that includes Highways Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) data samples contains both city and county maps. The Department of Archives and History has electronic (PDF) copies produced by MDOT. More recent maps were "born digital," using CAD software.
