"Hurricane Katrina, 2005. Sacred Grounds restored, 2005. On a warm late summer Saturday the Pocahontas Baptist Church Brotherhood honored the final resting places of two centuries-apart cultures after a damaging visit by Hurricane Katrina. At left is prehistoric Indian burial mound many hundreds of years old. At right is Magnolia Way Cemetery established on adjoining site in the mid-1800's. The Indian mound is on the U. S. National Register of Historic Sites. Magnolia Way Cemetery is an active community cemetery of perpetual care which needs a little extra attention occasionally." Group photograph.
