Oil and Gas Board, Mississippi State

 The Mississippi State Oil and Gas Board promotes and regulates oil and gas drilling, production, and storage, as well as disposal of nonhazardous waste, consistent with federal and state regulations. It produces an annual report (January-December) of the production of oil and gas in the state, plugged and abandoned wells, salt dome discoveries, and basic reservoir data for discovery wells. The Department of Archives and History has paper copies of the report from 1979 through 2002 and electronic (PDF) reports dating from 2016.
