"A Typical Picnic Crowd at Biloxi's 377-Acre Naval Reserve. Tourist Automobile Camping Park, Biloxi, Miss. This park was given to the city of Biloxi by the United States Government. It was formerly a reserve controlled by the Navy Department because of the giant oak trees located there. In the days of the wood warship the Government had the place under control so that in case sudden war should break out there would be a reserve from which to cut oak wood from. With the coming of the steel ships into use, these pretty trees were spared from the fear of some day being sacrificed to the Gods of War." View of people at park. Side 1.
