"Bob Lyle Fishing Camp, Biloxi, Miss. That Biloxi Bass. A fisherman bold, so I am told, Is our genial Colonel Apperson; He hung a Sea-Bass, but alack and alas, The fish was much too scrappersome. It came to pass, as he hooked the bass, The line tangled up in his fob; The fish made a meal of his Shakespeare reel, His watch and his Heddon rod. He got away, but a year from that day, Colonel landed that bass in his boat; His watch was found, safe and sound, But this is what gets my goat - His Ingersol was not hurt at all, And barking away like a pup; I'm not funning, it was still running - The Reel kept the Watch wound up!"
