Subject: Gay Adoptions Should be Legal
Message:

Honorable Governor Gusgrove,

Mississippi's proposed ban on same-sex couples adopting is not in the best
interest of children.

I do agree that it should be considered. WITH EVERYTHING ELSE BEING EQUAL,
a same-sex couple is not quite as IDEAL a home as a hetrosexual couple
could provide. However, there are many things about adoptive parents
which are not ideal for a particular child also: income levels,
personality traits, neighborhood and school system, age, race, education
level, etc.

A ban on any one of these characteristics would really "tie the hands" of
social services in finding the best home for a particular child.
