This community, Crystal Springs, has a serious drug epidemic going on that will only get worse, and distroy more lives if something isn't done soon. Some type of alternative needs to be presented to the youth in the area that would provide them with recreational needs along with drug prevention education. As stated in my previous letter to you, I'm proposing a "COMMUNITY SAFE ZONE" for kids that would allow them recreational tools, i.e pool tables, arcades, etc. along with drug prevention education. The "SAFE ZONE" would have a -zero tolerance for drugs and/or alcohol. The facility could double as a meeting place for A.A., N.A. and other groups atoning to positive lifesyles. Some sort of government grant should be available for this type of project. . .there's a need, that can be filled. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, MELVIN A.
