Re: Asking the Members of the Media to Help Americans to Remain Vigilant

There are times the term "lame duck" is a misnomer. This administration and
Congress have achieved amazing accomplishments, a tribute to skilled
leadership and cooperation.

However, a new administration is entering with different priorities. There
may be times when a Republican majority in all three branches of government
may weaken the system of checks and balances. Then, Americans may have
recourse via the members of the media. Please help Americans to remain
vigilant, especially the young, in language they will understand, even
risking hackneyed usage, to help protect Americans now.

For example, it might help them to understand "there is no free lunch". If
the wealthy take almost half the surplus for themselves first, there may not
be enough remaining to provide for the basic needs of the citizens. This may
lead to cutting services and raising taxes, which is what President Bush did
and what his son did in Texas. After he pushed through a $2.8 billion
property tax relief for the wealthy, from which he benefited, he cut services
and raised taxes in Texas.

Please help them to recognize that president-elect G.W. Bush and his running
mate Dick Cheney have ties to Big Oil, and Cheney has ties to the largest
defense contractor in the world. Bush promised to bring oil prices down. He
has not been helping and may not start now. Therefore, watch oil prices
continue to spiral upwards. There will be no President Clinton or Vice
President Gore to call for investigations or to tap oil reserves, which
caused oil prices to stabilize.

Then, some may wait for the fulfillment of campaign promises. However, Bush
and Cheney have already indicated their direction, e.g., Cheney says America
needs an excessive tax cut for the wealthy because he foresees a recession.
However, their budget is almost identical to that of President Reagan, which
led to the worst recession in the history of the U.S. The stock market
wobbled briefly recently, possibly because of the uncertainty in the
election. Yet, there is no recession, but if America follows the Bush-Cheney
policy of a Reagonomics type of exorbitant tax cut for the wealthy, Bush and
Cheney may create one.

In fact, Alan Greenspan, the director of the Federal Reserve, has helped
bring this country out of the Reagonomics budget deficits with their
resultant high unemployment, and its accompanying high crime and welfare
rates. He strongly advises against an exorbitant tax cut for the wealthy,
which would return this country to that condition.

However, Americans might not notice any adverse effect immediately following
an excessive tax cut for the wealthy because the new leadership may pilfer
the surplus, which is supposed to pay down the debt and help citizens. Yet,
citizens may feel the effect in cut services and raised taxes to offset that
loss in revenues soon after.

If a bogus recession excuse fails, Bush and Cheney may try to find another
one. President Clinton is not there to veto and thus to safeguard American
revenues from an exorbitant tax cut for the wealthy now. Yet, Americans are
not helpless, especially if the members of the media maintain a steady stream
of accurate information. The Republicans lost some seats in the U.S. Senate.

Just as important, Big Oil and defense contractors profit from war. G.W.
Bush has already announced that the enemy should beware of America, which
seems to signal the end of the Clinton-Gore era of peace and international
trade in favor of waging war. Bush and Cheney may not need any excuse and
they may invent one as happened before in recent American history.

In October of 1963, General Maxwell Taylor and Secretary of Defense Robert S.
McNamara advised President John F. Kennedy against continuing American
efforts to win a war in Vietnam. However, when President John F. Kennedy
issued National Security Memorandum #263 in October of 1963 to return
American troops from Vietnam, assassins murdered him and the North Vietnamese
leaders within less than a month.

In fact, Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson rode in the second car
following President Kennedy and Texas Governor John Connally in the motorcade
in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, the day of the assassination. It
intimidated Johnson. Furthermore, the press car, which was usually second,
was last in the motorcade that day. Therefore, they were unable to record
the events as accurately as they might have had they been in line directly
following the President. The placement of the cars in that motorcade seems
premeditated.

Incidentally, McNamara was president of Ford Motor Company before he was a
member of the Kennedy cabinet. Automobile manufacturing companies may also
manufacture military vehicles. Then, shortly after those assassinations,
McNamara and Taylor reversed themselves. They advocated a win in Vietnam to
the new President Johnson. Next, an unseen North Vietnamese torpedo boat
fired a missile against the Maddox, a U.S. destroyer, but missed its mark.
This "happened" twice, and became the pretext for the Gulf of Tonkin
resolution, which led Johnson to announce the American involvement in the
Vietnam War. That war made profits of $220 billion, especially benefiting Big
Oil and defense contractors. Please see the New York Times and the
Washington Post of that period, as well as Cayton, Andrew, et al. America:
Pathways to the Present, Needham MA, Prentice Hall, 2000, 616-638.

Today, G.W. Bush seems to indicate that they will go to war as often as they
can on any pretext possible, invented as above or not. It is profitable for
Big Oil and for defense contractors where Bush and Cheney have so many ties,
and Cheney still has conflict of interest stock options. One possible source
of escalation is in the Middle East where Big Oil affiliates reside in OPEC
countries. They listened to Cheney before when he visited them with President
Bush to urge them to keep oil production low in order to continue raising oil
prices. Watch for Cheney "fact finding" trips to visit the Middle East OPEC
leaders. However, Bush and Cheney may rather accomplish their purpose by
telephone or email.

In addition, please make careful notes of the exact status of the increased
prosperity and lower crime and welfare rates Americans enjoy today. Please
try to help to prevent the downward trend in the upcoming administration for
the non-wealthy, but track it when it develops. This includes the
unemployment rate, which generally increases following an exorbitant tax cut
for the wealthy. There then may be insufficient revenues remaining to
provide new jobs, with a return to higher unemployment rates as there was
under his father. There is generally an accompanying return to higher crime
and welfare rates. Many Americans fear re-experiencing a ruined economy.
Americans also most likely can expect no increase in the minimum wage which
Bush said would "price them [underpaid citizens] out of the market."
Workers paid a minimum wage of $5.15 an hour usually cannot pay their living
expenses. Then the firm Cheney headed reportedly uses slave labor in Asia.

Next, let the members of the media also please keep people as alert as
possible to the many smaller tax breaks for the wealthy that, when totaled,
become another exorbitant tax break for them. This places the burden on the
other Americans to cover that loss in revenues. Please explain that
especially to the young in language they understand, if possible. For
instance, if the majority of tax breaks go to the wealthy, the other
Americans are left "holding the bag". One example might be the estate tax cut
for the wealthiest one percent of the people, which includes Bush and Cheney.
Apparently, they want that for themselves and all others like them,
including House Whip Tom DeLay, R-TX. Although the D.C.C.C. cited him for
racketeering, he has already gloated that the Republican majority in all
three branches of government leaves them unfettered (to harm others
Americans). This forces the other Americans to cover that loss in revenues.

Moreover, many agree with the Democratic appointed U.S. Supreme Court Justice
Stephen Breyer who voted against the U.S. Supreme Court ever taking the Bush
vs. Gore case. Many also agree with Republican appointed U.S. Supreme Court
Justice David Souter who said there was enough time to finish a recount.
However, other justices of the U.S. Supreme Court announced that Bush
probably would win and had nothing to worry about before they read the legal
presentations, which appears to be illegal. In fact, one great danger
apparently lies in the appointment of more of the latter type of justices to
the Supreme Court. They have strong family ties to the Republican leadership
and to the lawyers advocating for them, which seems to influence what may be
an otherwise impartial judgment.

In addition, some believe there will be gridlock in the 107th Congress, which
may inhibit accomplishment. However, others believe that they may vote as a
block along party lines. Then, it may be helpful if the media tracks the
numbers of tie breaking votes that Cheney may cast which benefit the powerful
at the expense of the other taxpayers.

Furthermore, let members of the media please do all they can to try to help
to protect the environment. For example, Bush and Cheney announced they want
to devastate Alaska to produce less than six months of oil, which is
available elsewhere in the U.S. Please also try to help to protect the
U.S. national parks from the Big Oil president-elect and his running mate as
well as all special interest lobbyists that would damage these parks.
President Clinton saved the redwood forests, the beaches, the Everglades, and
protected Americans from this damage. He will not be able to do that now,
and those who want to ravage America for personal gain may try to undo what
President Clinton has saved.

Then, please monitor Medicare and Social Security benefits as well. These
funds are vulnerable to raid even before the surplus is gone, and then the
Social Security and Medicare funds may be tilted towards those who profit
from them most, e.g. private insurers.

Next, the same may be true of any further advancement in education benefits.
The Big Oil, gun, and other special interests lobbies fought hard against
them and tried to defeat them. They seem to prefer that Americans remain as
underinformed and therefore as easily duped as possible. With Bush and Cheney
at the helm of government, that ignorance seems predestined. Cheney voted
against Head Start, and Bush cut education services in Texas. In addition,
there may be no further funding to repair schools or to hire more teachers
once the Clinton-Gore administration funding expires. Bush cut services to
learning disabled in Texas, and wants to take Title I monies from "failing
schools" rather than to repair them, which is possible. In this way,
learning disabled students may never be identified nor their needs met
because vouchers for private schools fail to take into account that these
schools seldom provide services for the learning disabled.

Moreover, Bush may try to expand his increase in allowances for concealable
weapons policy nationwide. With House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-IL, who
tabled the Prevention of Gun Violence by Children Act, Congress will
accomplish nothing to halt gun violence with methods already proven to work.
The gun manufacturers will continue to lobby (bribe) successfully against the
reasonable protection of innocent American citizens. Vice President Gore
will not be there to cast the tie-breaking vote to protect Americans from
needless deaths from selling guns to children and to criminals without
sufficient background checks.

Similarly, Congress likely will do nothing to stop the proliferation of
anti-hate crimes in America as long as there are those like Senator Trent
Lott, R-MS, in Congress. He may share leadership in Congress but does not
belong in it. The white supremacist groups march under the Nazi flag in
America today, and their activities have the effect of causing the ongoing
and proliferating killing of non-whites, Jews, Catholics, gays, and learning
disabled students. Lott is a speaker to such groups, and is a recent member
of one. He and Rep. Bob Barr, R-GA, recently spoke to the white supremacist
group headed by the uncle of Senator Lott, and Bush successfully worked
against needed anti hate crime legislation.

Furthermore, it is possible to explain a recent photo of Lott, Hastert, Bush
and Cheney as the Senate Majority Leader, the House Speaker, the
president-elect and his running mate. There is also another way to describe
those in that photograph accurately. They are the extreme right wing, the
apparently gun lobby and other lobby money recipients, and Big Oil and
defense contractor affiliates at the helm of the U.S. government.

Incidentally, American citizens may pressure the members of government in
Florida to upgrade their voting practices to legal ballot forms, and machines
that work. They may resist because they find the status quo produces the
outcome they would like. However, there must be some way to get out the vote
and to protect that vote in the next two years for the election of U.S.
congresspersons, and for the election in four years for the U.S. president.
Please try to help to prevent further barring of minorities from voting, the
illegal access of Republicans to doctoring ballot applications while
Democrats are excluded, and the disposing of 180,000 ballots, including
72,000 in heavily Democratic precincts in southern Florida. When the votes
from this election are counted (those that were not illegally disposed of),
Vice President Al Gore will have won the majority of them in Florida.

Much of the country is aware of what happened in this campaign and in the
subsequent election. Bush copied everything positive that Gore said,
doctored the Bush record as much as possible, had other people speak for him,
and smeared Gore with RATS and similar advertising. Congress and others
repeatedly falsely accused him of secrecy and illegality. In spite of this,
he got more votes, even in Florida. The members of the media will show this,
which some of the courts tried successfully to prevent him from showing. He
won this majority of votes in spite of the barring of minority voters, and
the tampering with ballot applications. He won also despite the giving of
laptop computers for easy vote tabulation to predominantly Republican
precincts in Florida while not providing the same to the predominantly
Democratic precincts, and the disposing of 180,000 ballots.

Then, those who ruminate as to why Gore lost may be exercising wasted effort.
Once the members of the media count the votes, the record may show he did
not lose, he won. However, it is possible for the winner to appear to lose
and the loser to appear to win when tens of thousands of votes mysteriously
disappear, and there is further manipulation of the subsequent tabulation in
every possible way imaginable.

Those in Florida who threw out ballots to prevent counting them, and others
like them elsewhere, have already begun to implement these policies again.
They will also try to discredit President Clinton, Vice President Gore, and
members of the Clinton and Kennedy families. Therefore, every time they
mention that President Clinton made a personal mistake, please always mention
the name of Rep. Henry Hyde, R-IL. He led the impeachment proceedings after
he reportedly broke up the home of Cherie Snodgrass. Furthermore, he refuses
to endorse the legislation that would make it a crime allowing the arrest of
those like Buford Furrow, who shot the children in the daycare center, when
crossing state lines. Additionally, it seems an amazing coincidence that the
tabloids primarily have headquarters in Florida.

Now, a new administration is coming in with different priorities. A few may
believe it is "time to get behind the new president". That may be a
traditional approach. However, in light of the unchecked illegalities of this
election process, it does not mean it should continue. Many Americans believe
it is imperative to do the opposite to prevent the manipulation and theft of
the presidency in future, and the ensuing pilferage of American taxpayer
dollars as much as possible. Therefore, for now, please maintain your
dedication to this country. There must be a way to right this wrong. Please
do whatever you can, and begin to do that today.

Most important, Americans thank President Clinton for his successful peace
and prosperity efforts. In addition, please let members of the press expose
those times he has been seriously misquoted as in Esquire and in Rolling
Stones.

Americans also thank Vice President Gore for his successful efforts in the
peace with prosperity they enjoy today. The majority realizes he won in
Florida. They ask he please consider running again when they can prevent the
theft of the votes.

The citizens also appreciate that this administration reversed the deficit it
inherited to ground breaking back to back to surpluses, and thank you and
Congress for its wise use, so far.

Thank you also to all of the helpful Cabinet members of this administration,
including Secretaries Madeleine Albright, William Cohen and Richard Riley,
for advancing the causes of peace, protection and education.

Thank you as well to Attorney General Janet Reno, the FBI and the Justice
Department for reducing crime in the U.S.

Moreover, Americans appreciate the 106th Congress for providing more Title I
and other funds for learning disabled, and funds to upgrade schools, to
reduce class sizes, and to help college students. Thank you additionally for
restoring Medicare payments, and for helping to save Social Security.
Americans also appreciate your funding land preservation and more
environmental research and protection. They are grateful for your helping to
sponsor the fight against ethnic hatred. Thank you again for helping to
support medical research, 100,000 more teachers and 100,000 more police
officers, as well as providing funds to develop poor areas and trying to help
immigrants to become citizens. Americans appreciate your support of improved
relations with China and Cuba. This tends to increase trade, lessen
Communism, and provide jobs. Americans value especially your funding the
paying down of the national debt

Furthermore, citizens are most grateful to all of you for your accessibility,
for your willingness to listen to their concerns and to address them.

In sum, it has been a golden time in America, as was never seen before. It is
the longest expansion of economic prosperity in U.S. history, with the
benefits going to those who have earned them, proving that Americans may reap
the rewards that they deserve for their hard efforts.

In fact, there was nothing lame duck about this administration or session. It
stands, instead, as a tribute to the skilled leadership of President Clinton,
Vice President Gore and to the cooperative efforts of this Congress.

Other Americans feel saddened to see this period draw to a close, and wish
you continued success.
