This bill which passed the Senate under questionable circumstances strips Mississippi consumers of protections needed from unscrupulous lenders. The bottom line is that lenders who follow the law and treat their customers in a fair and forthright manner do not need this reform. Further, I do not believe a bill can be signed into law when numerous legislators who voted in "favor" of the bill now say they would not have supported it had the read it. Please veto House Bill 1646. Best regards.
