Message: As a concerned teacher and parent, I am writing to request your help in an urgent matter. It is imperative that we consider educating Mississippi's young people a top priority in our state. Our children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. I am aware of the possible education budget cut for the next fiscal year. However, our public schools must have the financial support from our state government to ensure that our children are adequately prepared to become productive citizens and are able contribute to the growth of our state.
I am sure you share my concern. That is why I am asking for your help in ensuring future success for Mississippi. As the governer of Mississippi, you have the power and responsibility to help our children succeed and, therefore, help our state to continue to move forward.
A cut in the education budget will surely compromise our children's education and lead to a downward spiral in Mississippi's economic future. That is why I am asking for your support on the following issues:

*100% funding of the MAEP

* Restoration of the textbook and teacher supply fund

*Full funding of the teacher salary increase pay package

Thank you for your time and commitment to education.

Jennifer Craft
