Message: Dear Governor;I am writing in behalf of my husband and 3 daughters. We sold our home in New Orleans Louisiana and moved to the state of Mississippi in the month of July 2000. We moved from the city so our kids can have a better life a nice, quiet and peaceful life. One is 10, the other is 18months and the baby is 4 months. My husband Charles a Claverie IV is a 100% disable gulf war veteran. On October 27th 2000 we were traveling down hwy 59 south about 1/2 mile from our exit which was exit 51 purvis going to pick up our 10 year old daughter from lamar christian school where she is the only black student. My husband was pulled over and arrested by a statetrooper and was given a ticket for speeding doing 93 in a 70, double yellow, failure to yeild and resisting arrest. In the vehichal at the time was Myself the two small kids and the family dog. Maybe I don't know the real definition for resisting arrest but I assure you we would not get off the exit at which we!
live 3 miles from and endanger our kids as well, as a matter of fact we were picking up my daughter from school early due to the fact that we were on our way to our act of sale. My husband went before the judge and pleaded not guilty, trial was set for feb 1 2001. we arrived and was seated my husband was called up by the prosecutor and was told, that paticular officer would not write such things if it was not true and that he knew him and he was a good man. My husband came back to his seat and was called up again by the judge, at that time the prosecutor and the judge tried to get charles to plead to a 83 in a 70 and they keep all the other charges. Charles stated to the judge that his plea is still not guilty. Well the judge got all upset and said to Charles you mean to tell me this officer is that mean spirited and told charles we will have a full trial on feb 15, 2001. Their will be no jury involved and the man thats going to judge is a man that had the expression o!
f you niggar your going to stand in front of me and be smart and not take what I am offering well I'll just see to it that you get the max and make you wish you had taken what was offered. My husband is ready to move he spoke to councel a mr. Scott Schwartz and he informed charles he can get 6 month in jail, we need some justice. I tried calling the mayors office and I was told because it was a state trooper it was nothing they could do. I also told the paster over at Kensington woods church Mr. David looney. we need your help and support. May we please have your support.
