Do you hear the partisan political statements of our leaders, as filtered through the media, and get the idea the Washington Political Game is not designed to include you? Do you see through their transparent one-sided self-serving arguments and wonder why they are not based on reason where everyone wins? We have the uneasy feeling that we should be doing something. But, politicians are distant and government is huge. We don't even totally know the right solution, as few are offered and none are explained in detail. The tendency is to shy away from the area, to do nothing. Can we, at the citizen level, make a difference even if we try? The answer, of course, is YES! The truth is we have to reverse our natural inclination to avoid the area and simply increase the number of communications to government about issues we think are important. Citizens for an Alternative Tax System (CATS) is a group that has put this equation to use in pursuing the goal of GETTING THE IRS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY OUT OF THE LIVES OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL IN AMERICA. We are seeking a new tax system, the national retail sales tax, which would eliminate the harmful income tax and free up the productive activities of all citizens. The sales tax plan benefits the citizens rather than the current system, which benefits the political game. Doesn't that make more sense? The IRS has overstepped its bounds once too often in collecting the King's ransom. It has adversely affected individual lives of countless thousands of Americans, many times without cause and in the vast majority of cases, too harshly for the circumstances. The income tax is destroying the standard of living in this country. This stark fact affects all of us - it does not matter how much or how little one earns. The income tax is removing the United States from a position of economic dominance in the world. This is not only dangerous for our future and that of our children, but also for the entire world economy of free market nations who are dependent on the stability of the United States. With so many strikes against the IRS and the income tax and so many people united in this cause, potential for success is very high. Our proposal to do away with the income tax and the IRS has very broad appeal. Our interest is to step through the barbed wire of political parties and move directly toward our goal, unaffected by those who would use partisan conflict to stop a good idea. We will WIN, not because we have a good idea, but because it is a NECESSITY. It is the correct solution for this span of time in this moment in history. The key, the real secret to our success, will be in finding that we are not alone. Others, many others, feel as we feel and it is only a small minority that would want to keep an agency and a tax collection system in place that is so blatantly bad for our country. Can we make a difference? YES. Use the Internet. Spread the word and increase the number of people communicating to government. Visit our web site where you will find lots of information that you can send to others. THIS ONE WE WIN! http://www.CATS.ORG submit: submit --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Attachment Filename: C:\archives\governor\mail\Governor Musgrove\_attach\Comments to the Governor 118\Mime.822
