C. Liegh McInnis is one of the panelists and poetry presenters of the African American Griot Conference sponsored by the University of Missouri-Columbus, which will be held this weekend. Nov.8 -- Thursday

10 AM -- Conference registration

12 noon -- lunch

1 PM -- Welcomes & Press conference news conference featuring Dr. Julius Thompson, Director of Black Studies and co-chair of the Conference, with Ahmos Zu-Bolton II, Visiting Writer-in-Residence and co-chair, and festival/conference participants.  Announcement of the creation of new Black Studies journal The African-American Griot, to be published in 2002.

2 PM -- Keynote Address -- Ishmael Reed introduction of Mr. Reed by Dr KC Morrison

4 PM -- The Griot As Oral Historian
