A friend of theirs was killed in a car wreck this past week. They go to Bayou Academy in Cleveland, Ms. It is a small private school just off Highway 8. There have been several parents who would like to have a red light put up at this intersection. The county says it doesn't have the money to do this. However, we have offered to come together as a community and pay for this to be done, if need be. However, I believe it is in the interest of the State to do this. It is the State's children that travel this road to and from school everyday. Also the point was brought up that only during school months that this particular intersection is so busy. That is true, however, couldn't the light just be used during the school months and turned off when the road is not so busy? I, as a parent and friend of the parents of the little boy who was killed and the daughter that is still in the hospital, I beg you to please to look into this matter. I ask myself this question, if I was a 'higher' power, wouldn't I do anything to help make the highways safer for our future leaders of this state and country? Ofcourse my answer is YES! May God be with you and yours.
