From: "Sherri Bilodeau" <sherribil@home.com> To: Governor Musgrove Created: 7/8/2000 8:01 AM Subject: The murder of Raynard Johnson Message: Governor, My name is Sherri Thomas-Bilodeau and I live in Fremont, California. I am outraged at the death of Raynard Johnson. Despite the cautious writing style of the Post reporter, yes, his death was due to a lynching. I am outraged that social unrest due to active racism is still so rampant in Mississippi. Make no mistake about this particular incident, it HAS to be handled properly and with your assistance. This will open a can of worms that will stir for years. I was born in Oakland, California 32 years ago and this has sounded an alarm. Unless you want to have many outraged Californians(as well as many citizens from other states that are currently viewing how they will deal with this) at your doorstep, my suggestion is that this situation be handled in a just and prompt fashion. I have never left my home to protest in another state, not even to venture to Jasper, Texas. This, I assure you, will be the first time and it will probably not be a peaceful situation if we have to come there. Please handle this situation in a fair and just manner. Please do your best to not let a miscarriage of justice occur for this child. Thank you. - Attachment Filename: C:\archives\governor\mail\Governor Musgrove\_attach\The murder of Raynard Johnson\Part.001 - Attachment Filename: C:\archives\governor\mail\Governor Musgrove\_attach\The murder of Raynard Johnson\Mime.822
