From: Mark Herman <mrkhwrdhrmn@netscape.net> To: Governor Musgrove Created: 7/1/2000 5:34 AM Subject: Mississippi Reduce Prison Collect Calls Message: Date: 07/01/2000 Dear Governor Musgrove: Currently, collect calls from the prison cost families of inmates much more than an average phone call from a pay phone. Both these families and Mississippi prisoners deserve a break, so that they pay the same as any other Mississippi residents for collect calls. Allowing prisoners to maintain strong family ties will improve community reintegration. There is no reason to penalize the families of inmates. Please, Governor Musgrove, use your influence to get prisoner telephone calls on the same footing as those of the rest of our people.
