     Dear Mr.Andrew,
      
     I am writing to express my desire that Vice President Al Gore give
     up the fight for the presidency if he is behind after the recount
     in Florida. He should not hold this nation hostage by supporting
     court battles over whether there should be another election in
     some Florida counties.
      
     It's time for Gore to do the right thing. This nation needs to
     move on. Richard Nixon could have contested John F. Kennedy's
     election in 1960, but decided against it for the good of the
     country. Al Gore should do the same. We don't need the uncertainty
     of long court battles.
      
     Our electoral system has been a way of life for more than 200
     years. If Al Gore does the  right thing and abides by that system
     and concedes after the recount, I believe he will become even more
     popular.
