Musgrove: I am a retired Air Force Veteran and highly decorated combat veteran. I fully support our government and way of life. On the issue of the flag, I do not feel it's fate should be left to a committee. The American government is founded on the will of the people. Therefore I respectfully submit that WE THE PEOPLE should be the ones to determine the fate of our state flag. By putting the issue to a vote of the citizens you prevent ALL political fallout that could occur because of an unpopular decision by your committee or yourself. Also, our State Troopers are employees of the state, the vehicles they drive are property of the state. The Commissioner of the hiway patrol has taken it upon himself to deprive troopers the right to show pride in their state. All state vehicles should be required to display the state flag, and no individual have the right to remove them because of his/her own prejudices. Respectfully Yours Michael D.
