Railroad Depot Post Card Collection PI/1987.0009

The Railroad Depot Post Card Collection is a made up of one-hundred-forty-two postcards featuring photographs of railroad depots in Mississippi. The photographs are black and white and were taken during the twentieth century. Each postcard's description includes the name of the railroad company that was using the depot at the time.

Image Arrangement and Numbering

The Railroad Depot Post Card Collection consists of 142 postcards that were numbered in the order they were received.

Technical Details

Original Scans: The original scans of the Railroad Depot Post Card Collection were made in 2009, according to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Board of Trustees' approved imaging procedures, following ANSI/AIIM recommended practice. The images were scanned as uncompressed, 8-bit Grayscale TIFF files at 600 pixels per inch.

Conversion: For Web display, the original scans of the Railroad Depot Post Card Collection were saved as JPEG tile sets.

The postcards in the Railroad Depot Post Card Collection are in the public domain and therefore free of copyright or other use restrictions. MDAH asks that each image used in a presentation, display, or publication be accompanied by the following credit statement:
