Technical Details
Original Scans: The Cabell, Breck, Jr., Collection negatives were scanned by MDAH staff in 2018-2019, according to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Board of Trustees' approved imaging procedures, following ANSI/AIIM recommended practice. The negatives were saved as uncompressed, 24-bit RGB TIFF files enlarged to roughly 4000 x 6000 pixels. Twenty-four negatives that were deteriorated beyond salvage were not scanned. One negative was missing from its envelope at the time of donation and could not be scanned.
Conversion: TIFF files were converted to JPEG tile sets for Internet access in 2025.
