Technical Details

Original Scans: The original scans of the Jefferson Davis Estate Papers were carried out in August 2004, according to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Board of Trustees' approved imaging procedures, following ANSI/AIIM recommended practice. The pages were scanned as uncompressed, 24-bit RGB TIFF files at 600 pixels per inch, in the order in which the collection was received from the Harrison County Chancery Clerk's Office. Only pages with content were scanned. Due to their fragile condition, the original records were not removed from their protective Mylar encapsulation for scanning. In some instances, Mylar covering may cause a barely discernible image distortion.

Conversion: The original scans of the Jefferson Davis Estate papers were converted in June 2020 to Zoomify JPEG tilesets for access.
