Mills (Ray and Julia) Photograph Collection PI/2007.0020
This collection consists of seventy-seven photographs of relatives of Julia Ann Dunbar (Shields) Mills, dating from the late nineteenth century to the mid-1950s. Eighteen of the images are of descendants of John Flavel Jenkins of Adams County, Mississippi. The remaining photographs depict descendants of the William Shields family of Adams and Jefferson Counties. Julia and her husband, Ray Mills, of Norman, Oklahoma, donated this photograph collection and the Shields-Mills family papers to MDAH in 2007.

Image Arrangement and Numbering
The photographic curator numbered the prints in the order they were received.
Technical Details
Original Scans: The original scans of the Ray and Julia Mills Photograph Collection were made by the Reformatting Section staff in 2007 and 2021, according to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Board of Trustees' approved imaging procedures, following ANSI/AIIM recommended practice. The photographs were scanned as uncompressed, 24-bit RGB TIFF files at 600 pixels per inch.
Conversion: For Web display, the original scans of the Ray and Julia Mills Photograph Collection were converted to Zoomify JPEG tile sets.
Rights Management
There are no known restrictions on use of images within the Ray and Julia Mills Photograph Collection. MDAH asks that each image used in a presentation, display, or publication be accompanied by the following credit statement:
