Wesson Photograph Collection PI/2000.0001

The thirty black-and-white photographic prints in the Wesson Photograph Collection were produced for the Wesson Enterprise newspaper and document many of the buildings in Wesson, Mississippi, during the early twentieth century. These include the cotton and wool gins, railroad depot, school, city hall, and churches. Fifteen of the photographs were taken by local photographer W. H. B. Hardy at the request of Editor Walter W. Robertson. Some were later used in an article in the June 5, 1964, edition of the newspaper. Also included are photographs of the inaugural activities of Mississippi Governor Edmond F. Noel on January 21, 1908.

Provenance

The Wesson Photograph Collection was donated to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History in 1998 by Howell C. Lann.
