Margaret was hired at her interview by [Murray Raspberry] to work with and be trained by his accountant and chief financial officer, Mrs. Sutton. Mrs. Sutton was in charge of overseeing Mr. [Raspberry's] various business interests - Bank of Hughes, Union 76 distributorship, Helena Insurance agency, and his life Insurance Company). June 1970. In 1971, with the assistance of Noble's business partner, a local Attorney, Margaret and Noble purchased two acres on Moon Lake and built their first home they would own. The house was [completed] just before Christmas, and no furniture had moved. Noble had returned to Louisiana for business reasons. Margaret spent her first night in the new home by herself on the floor with their dog in front of the fire place. In late 1972, Margaret resigned her position with Mr. [Raspberry] and became partner, book Keeper, office manager, compliance and chief [financial] officer for their newly formed American Development Corporation of developers and builders. The training and experience received from Mrs. Sutton would prove to contribute immensely to their future success. This same year Margaret and Noble made friends with Thad Cochran who was running for U. S. Congress for his first time. Later Thad would become Senator from Mississippi. This friendship continued until his passing in 2019."
