Volume 2, Page 3. "Clarksdale, Mississippi, in the mid-1970s, a friend, Judge Harvey Ross felt his friend Aaron E. Henry and Margaret and Noble had a lot in common, and he introduced them. Dr. Henry held many titles, WW2 Veteran, chairman of the Mississippi NAACP, vice chairman national NAACP, chairman National Center and Caucus on Black Aging in Washington D. C., state representative, a PhD in pharmacy, and a board member of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC). They traveled many times with him to Washington, and once to a dinner reception with President Jimmy Carter and First Lady [Rosalynn] Carter. Margaret and Aaron became very close friends. President Bill Clinton's aid was present at Aaron's funeral services, and Margaret and Noble were seated with Aaron's family. In 1986, Mike Espy was campaigning for the U S Congress. Mike came to Margaret's Moon Lake office to ask for her support. She held him there for quite a while asking several questions. She told him, 'You know, you are running against an incumbent, White Republican with considerable money'. When Noble arrived home that evening, Margaret said, 'I have just met our next Congressman. Mike did become our next congressman'. On election night when he was declared winner, the staff wanted to celebrate right then. Mike said, 'No, first I am going to my church to get down on my knees and thank God.' Later he was chosen to be United States Secretary of Agriculture. He told the story of meeting Margaret the first time to many people, at his Campaigns, even to the president. Over the years, Margaret and Mike were very close friends."
