Volume 4, Page 27. "In the early 80s, Margaret and Noble became acquainted with Dr. Jerre Freeman and his wife Ann of Memphis, Tennessee. Through the following years they became very close friends. Dr. Jerre is a very talented, caring, and generous person with many titles, awards and is the founder of World Cataract Foundation. This is a Nonprofit Foundation with all volunteers who perform cataract operations in third world countries. They donate their talents, time and funds for equipment and training doctors in Memphis for their return home. In 2003 Margaret and Noble became board members of the World Cataract Foundation. Fee-for-services hospitals were first allowed in China in the mid 80s. Dr. Jerre encouraged Dr. [Meng Yong'an] from Xi'an, China to create one of the first fee-for-service Hospitals in China. Dr. Jerre donated the training and equipment for Dr. [Meng's] first hospital. In October 2010, Dr. Jerre, Ann and Margaret, and Noble traveled to Beijing China for a reunion banquet of the medical personnel exchange Program at the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Then they went to Xi'an, China for the unveiling ceremony of World Cataract Foundation's Xi'an Eye Hospital and 18th Anniversary of Ancient City Eye Hospital on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Xi'an is the oldest city in the civilized world. After their visit in China, Dr. Jerre, Ann, Margaret, and Noble traveled to Sydney, Australia for a stay at the Four Seasons Hotel, attend the opera, touring Sydney and the Australian coast, then returning home."
