Annual Report

Medicaid is a national health care program that helps pay for medical services for low-income people. The mission of the Mississippi Division of Medicaid is to ensure access to health services for the Medicaid eligible population in the most cost efficient and comprehensive manner possible and to pursue strategies for optimizing the accessibility and quality of health care. The annual report (July–June) presents statistical data of funding and beneficiaries of the Medicaid program in Mississippi. The Department of Archives and History has electronic (PDF) copies of the report from 1970. Paper copies of the 1970-1990 and 1994 reports were scanned and saved as PDFs by MDM. More recent reports were "born digital" and saved as PDFs.

The series contains two histories of the agency; a 2007 report to the Medicaid Appropriations Sub-Committee; eOrientation slides for new employees; a 2011 timeline of the division's events; and photographs documenting a February 2010 move to new headquarters, a February 2010 snowstorm in downtown Jackson, April 2010 tornado damage to the Yazoo City Regional Office, an April 2011 recording session for a radio spot at Mississippi Public Broadcasting, and a June 2011 Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program awards event. Medicaid Minute

Medicaid is a program jointly funded by the federal and state governments to provide health coverage for individuals whose income and resources are insufficient to pay for it. The "Medicaid Minute" is a staff newsletter published at irregular intervals by the Mississippi Division of Medicaid. Volumes provide news on the agency as well as staff members and their families; pointers on health, safety, and rights management; and factoids about gems and flowers of the month. The Department of Archives and History has electronic (PDF) copies of the November 12, 2010, through August 26, 2011, newsletters transferred by the Division of Medicaid Public Relations Office in 2011.

Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Agendas and Minutes

The series contains the agendas and minutes for the meetings of the Mississippi Division of Medicaid's Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee. The Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee is comprised of twelve participating physicians, nurse practitioners, and practicing pharmacists who are active Mississippi Medicaid providers and in good standing with their representative organizations. The P&T Committee is an advisory panel who conducts in-depth clinical evaluations and recommends appropriate drugs for preferred status on DOM's Preferred Drug List and/or for prior authorization.
