Eudora Welty Collection Series 26. Photographs Z/0301.000/S/Series 26
This series includes images of people, landscapes, and scenes from negatives created by Eudora Welty, and in a few cases, by others. Most of the photographs are of Mississippi, but they also include Welty's travel to other U.S. states, Mexico, and Europe. They document her increasing awareness of people and places apart from her own social class and personal experience, the development of her eye for composition, and her growth as a visual artist. The first book of her photographs, One Time, One Place, was published in 1971. Photographic negatives that may have been created by other photographers have been separated into an "Internal Only" group accessible in the William F. Winter Archives and History Building.
